Do you include preservative in your egg soaps? Will they stay fresh without preservative?
CP Soap does not need preservatives.
There are many forums on the internet that you could go to that explains this.
try; http://www.newdirectionsaromatics.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=877
or get some recipes.
If you make soap you can join one of the soap making groups where there is a world of information.
Brooklyn cp soapmakers on meetup
bubble revellers on yahoo groups
or just google soap making groups
you can also join the soap makers guild too.
Have a good day!!
dawn
Dawn, Thank you so much for the info. I read somewhere that anything fresh going into CP soaps will need preservative, that's why I don't make them. Thank you again.
Never a problem.
Also fresh herbs do sometimes cause issues in the cp soap. However take into consideration that the lye almost always cancels out any properties of the herb/ essentail oil used.
Do you not make cp at all? If the fact of using fresh ingredients is haltering you I have to say just do it you will be so happy with the product after..
Happy soaping.
Dawn, yes I do CP soap. But skeptical about putting in fresh ingredients like banana, eggs etc. I've only tried with cucumber juice and carrot juice in my CP soaps so far. Thanks for the reassurance, I'll give it a try.
I am not to keen on bananas. I can ask my fellow soapers but I am really nervous with fresh fruits.... I do think that if fresh fruits are pureed than its pretty ok but that is only what I have read on the message boards so I can not say from experience.
are you a part of any groups?
